19 Quotes About Falling in Love Unexpectedly
Lately my blog posts (and social media posts, and email communications) have been sporadic at best (nonexistent at worst). You may have heard me say, in one of my infrequent posts of the year, that a new relationship is partly to blame. It was a bit unexpected, although I definitely went looking for it. I challenged myself to talk to one potential suitor a day, whether online or in person, for 30 days.
I’ve often proclaimed to take serious responsibility for my love life. I’m not getting any younger and Boaz is simply not just going to show up for everyone. Some of us have to go get him. Yet, there’s so much foolishness that comes with dating (such as inappropriate pictures I didn’t ask or care for). So a few weeks in, I’d always ditch the conscientious effort to find love and settle down.
But the desire never went away. The goal was always still there. The starting and stopping dating roller-coaster I was on wasn’t really helping. I was still single and doing very little mingling. However, I truly believe we can see the changes we want to see in our lives if we can just be consistent enough, long enough. Hence the 30 day challenge.
So like I said, I went looking for love, but it still came unexpectedly. I guess because of past experiences I hadn’t really anticipated falling in love. Yet I did. And it’s been beautiful so far. In honor of my own unexpected love story, here’s 19 quotes about falling in love unexpectedly.
“The beauty of love is that, you can fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time.”
– Rita Ghatourey
“Serendipity. Look for something, find something else, and realize that what you’ve found is more suited to your needs than what you thought you were looking for.”

“I think that one of the things that you do learn is that falling in love and being in love with someone is a rarity. That you don’t fall in love as many times as you think you’re going to. And then when you do, it’s really special; it’s really important.”
– Julianne Moore
“Most people want to be circled by safety, not by the unexpected. The unexpected can take you out. But the unexpected can also take you over and change your life. Put a heart in your body where a stone used to be.”

“When you feel a connection, a gut connection, a heart connection, it’s a very special thing. What’s familiar to everyone is watching people falling in love; it doesn’t happen on screen that often. People fall in lust, then they’re suddenly together.”

“Sometimes people are afraid of falling in love, because it sometimes comes in a way we never expected.”
– Terry Mark
“Falling in love, romance, matters of the heart – when you fall in love, on some biochemical level you know there is a chance it won’t work out. It’s ingrained in us that if you take such an enormous risk on someone with your heart that it might not pay off. I gamble all my chips and I might actually lose everything.”
– Rachael Taylor
“You’re my serendipity. I wasn’t looking for you. I wasn’t expecting you. But I’m very lucky I met you.”

“There is another interesting paradox here: by immersing ourselves in what we love, we find ourselves. We do not lose ourselves. One does not lose one’s identity by falling in love.”
