Dear Heavenly Father,
Sometimes I struggle with feeling compassion for other people. I especially have a hard time feeling compassion for those who have wronged me. I understand that hurt people hurt people. I know the things that people say and do to me speaks more about themselves than it does about me. But I still have a hard time empathizing with them. After all, they should know better. Please forgive me for my judgment and lack of compassion. I too do and say things I should not do or say based on my own feelings. Teach me how to feel and show compassion to others. Teach me to give a helping hand and to have a forgiving, compassionate heart. Reaching out to someone who is hurting when everyone else is against them could help change their life. Let me not dwell on the wrong imposed on me, but rather to focus on the hurting soul who needs support. Teach me to be more compassionate in all circumstances.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
