27 Black Queen Quotes by A Black Queen

beautiful black woman, happy, giving a high five

I recently came across a blog post of black queen quotes and I couldn’t help but notice the compiler or author of the post was not black. Now I know lots of people write blog posts to rank on search engines and drive traffic to their site. Yet, there’s something off to me about reading a post designed to be inspiring to black women by a non black woman. So, here’s my list of top black queen quotes written by a black queen herself.

Black Queen Quotes on Love

“I am grateful to have been loved, and to be loved now and to be able to love. Because love liberates.” – Maya Angelou

“We choose love. Our love for our children. Our commitment to leaving them a better world. Our love for our country … our love for our fellow citizens … that’s what we choose.” — Michelle Obama

“What I think is key is everybody has to approach a relationship from a realistic standpoint. Everybody has stuff in the back of a trunk. The key is what kind of stuff can you deal with. There are some women who can deal with a relationship that I can’t.” – Tia Mowry

Black Queen Quotes on Self Care & Self Love

“I used to think I was ugly. I thought I looked like a camel. A person who doesn’t love themselves, they will see anything that pops up on their face. I’ve seen squirrels, I’ve seen a bird, and I’ve seen all kinds of animals on my face. But that is the result of self-hate. I’ve learned to say: ‘You know what? I am a beautiful black woman’.” – Mary J. Blige

“A great figure or physique is nice, but it’s self-confidence that makes someone really sexy.” – Vivica A. Fox

“I need to see my own beauty and to continue to be reminded that I am enough, that I am worthy of love without effort, that I am beautiful, that the texture of my hair and that the shape of my curves, the size of my lips, the color of my skin, and the feelings that I have are all worthy and okay.” – Tracee Ellis Ross

Black Queen Quotes on Courage

“God, make me so uncomfortable that I will do the very thing I fear.” – Ruby Dee

“Your world is only as small as you make it.” – Gabrielle Union

“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.” – Michelle Obama

“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.” – Tamera Mowry

Black Queen Quotes on Leadership

“Anyone who claims to be a leader must speak like a leader. That means speaking with integrity and truth.” – Kamala Harris

“I am one who believes in the power of the people. I am inspired when I see people hit the streets, who challenge their elected officials, and are willing to stand up and fight. I encourage it.” – Maxine Waters

Black Queen Quotes on Negativity

“One of the lessons that I grew up with was to always stay true to yourself and never let what somebody else says distract you from your goals. And so when I hear about negative and false attacks, I really don’t invest any energy in them, because I know who I am.” – Michelle Obama

“Whenever I feel bad, I use that feeling to motivate me to work harder. I only allow myself one day to feel sorry for myself. When I’m not feeling my best I ask myself, ‘What are you gonna do about it?’ I use the negativity to fuel the transformation into a better me.” – Beyoncé Knowles

“I don’t harp on the negative because if you do, then there’s no progression. There’s no forward movement. You got to always look on the bright side of things, and we are in control. Like, you have control over the choices you make.” – Tariji P. Henson

Black Queen Quotes on Achieving Dreams

“If you set out to do something and you give it your all and it doesn’t work out, be willing to modify your goal slightly. Have the ability to look in another direction. A small shift could guide you to the real purposes of your life.” – Halle Berry

“So, getting your money right matters well beyond saying, ‘Oh, I had [so much money] in the bank.’ It’s about financial freedom to make the choices you want. It’s about having a more stress-free life in what is an increasingly stressful world.” – Lynette Khalfani-Cox

Black Queen Quotes on Health

“Thou shalt take responsibility for thine own health and well-being. If you want to be healthy, have more energy, and feel great, you must take the time to learn what is involved and apply it to your own life.
