A Prayer to be More Obedient

Walking in Obedience

Heavenly Father,

My prayer today is for help and guidance in being more obedient to Your word. Sometimes I’m afraid to do what you ask me to do. Sometimes I am against doing the right thing. I wonder, “What about me?” or, “But they don’t deserve it.” I often want to hold on to my own wants and desires. Sometimes I think I know best. I try to lean on my own understanding and that leads me to not obey Your will for me. Create in me an obedient spirit. Help me to be courageous enough to do what I don’t understand. Help me to be faithful enough to do what I don’t agree with me.  Please forgive me for all my disobedient acts. Guide me towards Your will.
