A Prayer to be More Receiving of Love

Dear Heavenly Father,

You’ve said a lot of things about love.

“For God so loved the world…”

“…the greatest of these is love.”

The truth is I often have a hard time feeling and receiving Your love and the love of others.  I sometimes think, “Who am I?”.  Sometimes my past hurts prevent me from feeling and receiving love.  Apart of me is afraid to receive love.  I’m afraid for when and if that love should be taken away.  Help me to move forward in my desire to receive love despite my fears.  Help me to understand that although others may take their love away from me You never will.  Your love is enough.  I pray today that you would show me Your love. I pray that you will help me remove those barriers that prevent me from receiving love from You and from others.  I understand life is not life without love and I don’t want to keep love out of my life anymore.
